This week I want to discuss CBD and the benefits it could have in your life. I have been using CBD for a while now and enjoy the positive effects it has on my day-to-day life. I use it specifically for anxiety and occasionally physical relief.
CBD is good for practically everything: alleviates pain, anxiety and depression, helps reduce chances of cancer, improves heart health, and a variety of other smaller benefits. It can be taken orally in the form of a gummy, liquid drops, or can be smoked. It can also be used externally as a lotion or rub. Remember, it does not have the psychoactive effects that THC does! It is not weed, it only originates from the plant. If you’d like to learn more about the difference here is a helpful link that breaks down CBD vs THC.
I consume gummies daily and on occasion use some CBD lotion or rub when my shoulder acts up. Each gummy that I consume has 10mg, but there are a variety of options and each person may need to consume different amounts. I personally try to take one everyday, but a great thing about CBD is that there are no negative effects if I skip a day. Sometimes I eat extras within a day if I’m particularly stressed or anxious about something going on.
Fun fact! CBD is also safe for dogs! We have an older, somewhat anxious doggie who sometimes struggles to get up. We try to give him CBD daily and have already seen the benefits. He is less anxious, more vocal/happy, and is more active outside! It’s great to be able to give him a snack that benefits his overall health and happiness.
CBD is great for anxiety and depression because it doesn’t have all of the negative side effects and addictive qualities that pharmaceutical drugs have. It has been proven to alleviate anxiety and depression in adults, childrens, people with PTSD, people suffering from insomnia, and animals. Wondering how? Well it’s because CBD has an ability to act on the brain’s receptors for serotonin, which regulates mood and social behavior.
While this post does not contain every detail about CBD, I wanted to provide some helpful information so you can begin your journey with CBD. If you’re interested in learning more in-depth information about the benefits of CBD, here are some links to check out!
