Just Crow Things is a small, single-player adventure indie game from Unbound Creations where you play as a little crow, Crowy, who’s had her family heirloom stolen (her shiny sunglasses) from a mean city bird gang. As you seek to reclaim your family heirloom, you’ll travel the world and make new friends who help you unlock new abilities and face off with the evil bird gang! Poop on people, steal things, and take on flying challenges in this fun adventure.
In my review, I’m going to cover the story, the gameplay, and the overall experience with this game. This is NOT a spoiler-free review!
The Story of the Crow

As part of their journey in life, crows leave the nest to find their way in the world. Crowy is off on her first big adventure, finally leaving the nest to explore the world. But as soon as she makes it out of the safety of her forest, she is mugged by a bird gang who steal her family heirloom and tell her to buzz off. Determined to get them back, Crowy heads into the city and begins her adventure. It’s a coming-of-age story for this little crow.
There are 10 unique levels to explore, each including animals who have special requests or things to teach you. By engaging with them, either by bringing them their requests or learning the skills they have to offer, you develop friendships that build up your “crowputation.” This is important for the end of the game!
You can also explore on your own, beyond the quests, creating havoc for the civilians or discovering hidden trophies. As you play, you can customize Crowy with outfits, building out her personality and confidence!
At the end of the game, you face off with the bird gang and build the greatest nest ever built, with the help of your friends, to win back your family heirloom and drive the bullies out of town. It’s a cute and happy ending for you and your friends.
How to Play as a Crow

Within the 10 levels of the game, there are items to customize Crowy’s looks, tools and objects you can use as weapons, and different types of food that activate new poop modes. Crows use tools in real life, so this inclusion in the game is a fun fact for everyone. Though I don’t think a crow is picking up a blowtorch and chasing down civilians for fun. You can also spray graffiti, drop things on people, and harass people with a leaf blower.
Different poops modes are activated when you eat unique foods. For example, if you eat a pepper, you get fiery poops that burns everything below! Or you can get unlimited poops and go crazy pooping on everyone and everything just cause you can. There is a trophy for pooping a lot, so be sure to go ham.
Overall, the gameplay is super easy and fun. Crows are very smart, so it’s fun to see what kind of terror they could cause in real life if given the opportunity.
A Pooptastic Time
Just Crow Things is available to play on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Nintendo (in certain countries). I played on the PS5 and had no issue learning the controls. If you like exploring, terrorizing, or just having a good time, you can easily get a 100% in this game.
